ERS-2 Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite image of 'Sea Empress' incident, eleven days after initial spill

N.B. Dark areas of the ERS-2 SAR image from the Tromø satellite station do not necessarily represent an oiled sea since natural tidal, wind & wave effects in the ocean and around the coast sometimes generate free-surface effects which can result in the identification of false targets.
