Smile.gifThe figures below illustrate the experimental boom section studied during the EPSRC funded work.  Tests were conducted at the University of Glasgow Hydrodynamics Laboratory during June 1995.  The flotation member has a diameter of 0.4m and, in this case, the skirt depth is 0.75m.  Instrumentation includes uniaxial strain gauges, circumferential wave probes, pressure transducers and an impellor-type flowmeter:
